my bedroom

I'm lucky to have a big window in my room because I love when the sun shines through & rarely need to keep my lights on..so a few months ago I changed my bedding to something a lot more colorful (it was plain white before) & since I prefer adding unique touches to my room instead of buying a bunch of decorations at once, it's taken me awhile to finally have it the way I've wanted to look...and i'm glad I waited :)
pretty hooks used to hang my jewelry
polka dots seem to always put me in a good mood / Ikea bedding
favorite new Bath & Body Works peppermint lotion, vintage camera coin bank, & cage used as storage for perfumes
Urban Outfitters sandals, Asos heels, & Vans
islamic/morroccan art
gorgeous flowers my mom brought me after getting the flu & my polaroid collection

I've always had an obsession for film/instant cameras + the unique-quality photographs they produce. they definitely can be a pain to work with because you have very little control on the camera's settings. i've had so many almost perfect photographs that turned out to be too dark because of bad lighting but i'd definitely say that using film cameras has taught me a lot more about photography than a regular DSLR has.

Flower crowns

a little while ago I took these photos of my good friend. she is a natural when it comes to posing and the lighting that day was perfect! I went for a girly, whimsical, and ethereal look and tested out some portrait shots with the Instax camera and my good ol Nikon d5000 (it's about time I  invest in new lenses).

new york city

finally after years I visited New York City this past memorial day weekend and i loved it! being raised & living in the suburbs your whole life starts to suck so spending a few days in a city environment felt great. I really hope i get to move there once I go to college!
a pretty Saturday morning
merry-go-rounds at Bryant Park
the sun setting at Central Park
the rush & crowd of Times Square
fresh roses at the Plaza Hotel
i fell in love with the ceilings & chandeliers at the Plaza; it was so royal

at the lake

just some photos from my very long canoe ride yesterday.. my mom and I have never done it by ourselves so when we got quite far from the marina it was a total hassle trying to row back :O but for the most part I had a good time! i'm so glad the weather is warming up :)

A trip to the botanical garden and you know my camera will be full of flower pictures haha.

I love when my room is perfectly spotless with nothing laying around. keeping it simple makes it much more comfortable too with just a few things that add that pop of color (Native American rug, wall art)

hash browns aren't much of a "picture pretty" food but these were delicious. (Paula Deen's recipe)

home-made sugar cookies topped with sweet frosting and sprinkled peppermint candy bits...what more can you ask for? :)

this past weekend I went to go visit my sister at her apartment since there was a three day weekend, the snowfall down there was beautiful and I couldn't help but bring my Instax camera along!
p.s. is it just me or has Blogger been acting weird lately? whenever I try to rearrange my layout or add a header it hasn't let me -_-
