DIY birdcage

this project took me a verrrryy long time-- a lot more than usual! I'm not fond of making sculptures but the summer assignment for my art class required me to create two 3D pieces. I definitely made a lot of mistakes which is actually why it took so long to finish..either things weren't holding, glue wasn't strong, the bird looked awkward, the bird wouldn't stand..and so on..but overall i'm pleased with how it turned out.

What makes you happy?

After being inspired by a t-shirt, I made this list in my journal of what makes me happy. it made me realize how much there is to appreciate in life that we usually take for granted. it reminds me that there is ALWAYS something to be happy about and sometimes it's the little things that matter most :) alhamdulillah.

My sister and I are planning to start making a bunch of Islamic art and calligraphy and sell them instead of getting a summer job.. since I find the style to be fascinating too, I collected a few favorite images for some inspiration to use. I'll be posting more details about our art that we'll be selling in the upcoming months so if there's anything you'd like to see for us to draw regarding Arabic sayings, mosques, etc let me know in a comment!

"Alhamdulillah" praise to god

oh my gosh it has been too long since I've stayed consistent to this blog, so not goood :| but I think that's about to change because I'm getting sick of Tumblr :) anywho since it's been so long since i've had like a legit post (which isn't going to happen anymore because i won't neglect this blog from now on!) i'm going to share with you guys some new art that I've done for school + what not...xo

there's something so peaceful and bliss of taking a pencil and sketching away or picking up a brush and and dabbing soft strokes onto my paper. it's like once i start i can't stop.

I haven't had much time to sketch lately but I felt like I hadn't posted any of my drawings lately so these are just some I've done the last couple months.
